The majority of my neighbours here are Indians.
The two across-the-communal-gardens facing apartment blocks are festooned with flashing LED strips.
It's like being stuck forever on the Waltzer at the Dagenham Town Show funfair.

In Calcutta they've banned firecrackers, a traditional Diwali accompaniment, but there were still plenty of them going of last night.
Lots of rows of little candles all over the place after dark. Very pleasant. Social distancing zero.

I love those sweets made out of ground lentils, condensed milk and loads of food colouring and sugar washed down with a cup of tea.
Awake for days after mind you.

Cheers Woolford
Learned about it first from my doctor as a kid but really first had a few good times with friends in high school.

Thank you!
Happy Diwali to you, too. Nice festival, that. Fireworks, curry, kids dressed up in beautiful costumes. All good stuff.
